Portuguese

In the UK most of those who want to learn Portuguese may visit Portugal for holidays or even have holiday homes there. I could offer other reasons - the Portuguese language is a challenge, providing very good ‘exercises’ for the brain - just ask members of our group.

Portugal has a fascinating history and of course its navigators had a major role in discovering the New World beyond Europe, hence the 250 million Portuguese speakers around the world. Portugal has produced literature of world class, including one of the greatest 20th Century poets, Pessoa, and the Nobel prize winner, Jose Saramago

In our group we use material on current events, cultural and historic topics.

Berne-vindo (welcome) to anyone who has some knowledge of Portuguese and wants more
